Adult Psychotherapy
Dr. Angelich has extensive training in individual psychotherapy with adults treating various psychiatric diagnoses and problems in living. An important goal of psychotherapy is the relief of suffering caused either by symptoms, or persistent problematic personality traits. In addition to symptom reduction, effective treatment improves one’s overall emotional and social functioning. Enhanced relationships, improved confidence, and the elimination of self-defeating behaviors are the product increased self-awareness and gains in obtaining a more complete and honest picture of oneself in psychotherapy. Linking mind and brain, modern neuroscience research increasingly associates symptom improvements acquired in psychotherapy with the building of healthy neural connections in the brain.
After an initial evaluation consisting of a review of current difficulties and past history, impressions and recommendations for treatment will be offered. If a decision to work together is made, arrangements such as fees and the frequency of meetings will be discussed.
